This is a system to register complaints, undesirable events, liability claims and medical events within the meaning of the Act on Patients’ Rights and Patients’ Rights Ombudsman. We recommend it as a tool for monitoring and analyzing hospital's activities for the most common threats.
Many years of EIB’s cooperation with hospitals and participation in claim settlement processes confirm that claims of the injured in a process of treatment, in addition to typical medical errors, also apply to areas related to patients’ rights and the proper conduct of medical records. From the management point of view, elimination of claims resulting from other than medical errors is possible due to proper education of medical staff. That is why EIB’s main preventive actions at hospitals are realized through a training system for medical personnel. Trainings are conducted by lecturers experienced in insurance and medical law, medical practitioners as well as legal advisors and insurance brokers employed by EIB.
